ALBERT TROTT.
INTERVIEWED IN WELLINGTON,
(Special to Times.) Wellington, last night.
Interviewed on arrival by the Waiwera to-day, Mr Albert Trott, the well-known cricketer, who has been engaged b.y the Hawke’s Bay Cricket Association as coach, stated that he had to bo back in England for tiie ooniiiioucemont of the cricket season in the first week of May - , so that lie will have to leave the colony in March. Asked if lie intended to return to'the colony next season, he said it depended upon how his preliminary trip suited him. If successful here, and he found the change congenial, he will eomo out each season for three years. If not, ho has an offer to go to America next year. As to being left out of the All England team now in Australia, he said that Mr Maclaren explained to him at the outset that although he wanted him he could not take him, owing to his (Mr Trott's) Australian birth. Mr Trott, who seems a genial sort of man, is evidently very keen, for his first wish was that he might have a game this afternoon. This was easily arranged by some representatives of the Association. As to coaching, Mr Trott said : “ There is nothing I like better than to bring a youngster on. I could stay with him all day, so long as ho will listen to what I say.”
