A Train on Fire.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Adelaide, Dec. 10. Shortly after tho express left Broken Hill for Adelaide a fire, supposed to have been caused by an explosion of gasoline, started in a van containing extra large consignments of luggage and mails. The speed was increased in order to reach the next station in time to savo tho train. The flames spread rapidly, and there was much excitement amongst the passengers. The guard stuck to his post, and threw out the luggage, until tho fire became so fierce that he had to escapo along tho footboard, The van was guttod, and several bags of mails and a largo quantity of 1 uggage were destroyed.
