[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Auckland, last night,

The Hauraki Goldmining Company has completed crushing for the past four weeks from 40 tons of ore„and thirty-nine pounds of stone, for bullion valued at £285. DEATH OF OLD IDENTITY.

Mr John Lawford died on Sunday evening. For twenty-five years he was in charge of the Auckland branch of the Bank of Australasia. Seven years ago he retired from active w'ork, and had been ill for the past nine months. He was 73 years of age.
