Subsidising American Boats.
By telegraph—Press Association—Copyrigh} Washington, Dec. 18. A Dill has been introduced by Senator Fry in the Sonate proposing a yearlysubsidy on American mail steamers of about 25s per ton. It is regarded as specially dangerous to English lines trad-, ing in the Pacific, Japan, and Australian waters. The Bill was referred to a Committee of Commerce.
