In tho Scnato Mr McGregor’s amendment to the Immigration Restriction Bill, providing for tho direct exclusion of all Asiatics and aliens, was negatived by a majority of one. Tho Labor members complained that they wero sold over tho amendment by tho Opposition, and voted with the Government, passing tho clausa as originally proposed. The Immigration and Kanaka Bills wero road a third time and passed.
