The General Committee of the National Liberal Federation at Derby, after much diversity of opinion, resolved that negotiations for peace ought to begin, and he entrusted to a special commissioner. They passed a vote of confidence in Sir H. Campbell-Bannerman.
Tlie Daily Chronicle says tho Federation’s programme points to another Majuba Ilill settlement. The Chairman's statement that all parties accepted annexation was greeted with contradiction and counter cheers.
