Cathedral Spire.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, last night. It has been definitely decided to pull down as much of the Cathedral spire as may be deemed necessary in the interests of safety. At a meeting of the Chapter on Friday tenders asked for tho work will be considered. Nothing definite has yet, however, been decided as to the process of the eonstruetion. The spire will certainly not be finished in stone, and will, if completed in its original form, probably consist of steel, covered with such material as combines lightness with safety.
