AN OLD MAN’S FREAK.
[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Ashburton, last night.
A ease of supposed attempted suicide happened at Ashburton Domain about noon to-day. An old man named George Turner jumped into the bathing-pond. The Rev. Mr Lamb, who happened to be in the vicinity, plunged in and got him out, and, after a good deal of work, succeeded in restoring animation. Turner was taken to the hospital, and is expected to recover.
