ROYAL VISIT.
(Per Pi.lI.S. Ventura, at Auckland,
San Francisco, Nov. 14. A despatch, dated November 2, says that on the return of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall at Victoria station, the Colonial Agents-Gencral presented an address to the Duke, who replied in much the same terms as used earlier in the day at Portsmouth, when he dilated upon the enjoyment he had received from his trip, and his pleasure at seeing his native land a"ain. The Agents-General of the Colonfes also presented an address to His Majesty the King, who handed them a written reply as follows : —“ I thank you for the loyal and dutiful address on the return of my beloved son and daughter-in-law from portions of my realm of which you are the representatives. It was not without natural anxiety and hesitation I sanctioned the departure of the Heir-Ap-parent to the throne on a voyage which involved many months of separation, but it was my earnest desire to give effect to the wish of my late revered mother, and to the aspirations of my loyal subjects in tho colonies, of whose devotion and patriotism 1 have received such splendid proof in the signal service they have rendered the Empire in South Africa, and I am fully repaid by the complete success which attended the visit, and by the manifestations of devotion and loyalty which the presence of the Duke and Duchess everywhere evoked.”
