AUCKLAND NOTES. (Special to Times.) Auckland, last night. The Gisborne horseman. Buchanan, was again successful on Saturday afternoon in annexing the pony event at the trotting meeting by half a head. , The Canterbury horses which are down to take part at the l'akapuua meeting arc being pushed along in their morning tasks, and track work is becoming more interesting than it has been since lastmeeting at Ellerslie. Indications point to the respective fields for the various races being quite up to the average in point of numbers. The Gisborne horses Materoa and Tauhei are doing good, steady work. The Tukapuna racing authorities have decided to pay out on the first horse only in the inside paddock, and on first and second horses outside.
