Horticultural Society.

A meeting of the above Society was held last evening, when there was a large attendance of members. It was unanimously decided to hold a Flower Show on Thursday, December 12th. Messrs Thomson, File, and Barton were appointed a committee to draw up a schedule to submit to the general meeting to be held on Monday evening. Owing to the absence of Mr Gaudin, who is in Auckland, Mr George Darton was appointed Secretary pro tern. Considerable interest is being taken in the Show, which, owing to the favorable season, should be the most successful yet held. Two substantial prizes are being offered for the bestkept garden, one for “ cottagers ” who do not employ any outside assistance, and one for die open class.
