I : 7 KAITI v. GISBORNE
The second of the inter-club bowling matches for the pennant will take place this afternoon, when Kaiti meets Gisborne. Both teams have been practising most assiduously, and a close game should result. The following are the teams : —■ Gisborne : Massey, Quigley, Gaudin, Ponsford (skip), Humphreys, Robertson, McGowan, and Coleman (skip). Kaiti : J. T. Witty, Willock, Wallaee, and Witty (skip), Lewis, Jackson, Dixon, and Bright (skip). Ponsford’s team will play that skipped by Witty. j The following are the handicaps for the senior and junior pairs : Senior pairs (first round): Willock aud Coleman, scratch, play Humphreys and Bright, scratch ; Robertson and Simson, I scratch, play Hookey and Dixon, scratch. I Second round: Lewis and Ponsford, 2 behind scratch, play Sidebottom and Ferris I scratch; Hennessy and Matthewsou, 6 j points, play Wallace and Witty, scratch ; I Pettie and McGowan, 2 points, .play O’Meara and Gaudin, 4 points.
Junior pairs (first round): Cumming and Nicholas, S points, play Sheridan and T. Witty, 9 points ; Morgan and Martin, | 4 points, play Oman and Quigley, 7 points. Second round : A. Adair and Massey, owe 2 points, play Miller and F. Pettie, 6 points; Orr and Jones, 5 points, play Colebrook and T. Adair, 7 points ; Williams and C. Adair, 9 points, play Cussen and Harding, 11 points. The above matches (first and second round) have to j be played off' before this day week. A match between the ladies of Kaiti and Whataupoko is to be played on Mr J. W. Witty’s green this afternoon. Mrs Ponsford and Misses Wilson and Ferris (2) are to uphold the honors of the Whataupoko Club, and Mrs Kane and Misses C. Bo.ylau and Witty (2) will J represent Kaiti. An interesting game should result.
