At large and noisy meetings at six German universities, veteran warriors of the 1870 Franco-German war, denounced Mr Chamberlain’s insulting references to the methods of the German campaign. The Cologne Gazette shows that the agitation is based on mistranslations. Dr. Leyds semi-offieially warned Sir H. C. Bannerman that tho agitation against Mr Chamberlain would not modify Germany’s policy.
