RAGING IN THE UNITED KINGDOM. MUCH LOSS OF LIFE. RAILWAY ENGINE FIRES QUENCHED BY FLOOD. BRAVE COASTGUARDS.
By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright London, Nov. 13. A great gale has raged over the greater part of the United Kingdom. There has been a phenomenal rainfall in Scotland, Ireland, and northern England, inundating whole districts, especially in Yorkshire and Ulster, where the railway traffic is dislocated, the water overflowing to some of the trams and extinguishing tho engine tires. Tnero have been enormous wrecks. Ten lives are known to have been lost.

Ten lives are known to have been lost. Tho coastguards, in the teeth of tho gale, descended the cliff's at South Foreland, thirty feet, with a rope ladder, to assist a crew in danger.
