A SUICIDE.
WOMAN DROWNS HERSELF IN FIT OF MELANCHOLY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. At the inquest concerning the death of Mary Smith, who was found drowned in a dam near the institution, a vc-dict of accidental death was returned. It appeared that the woman had so much improved that she was about to be liberated from the institution, but nad fretted at not having received a letter from her husband, and presumably throw herself into the water in a fit of melancholy.
