Man Shoots Himself.
[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Auckland, last night.
John James .Mitchell, who has relatives in Palmerston North, attempted to commit suicide yesterday by shooting himself in the head with a revolver. Ho was taken to the hospital, and is now progressing favorably, though the bullet has not yet been extracted. Mitchell had been unemployed for some time, and is alleged to have been drinking lately.
