THE AGRICULTURAL SHOW.
Thu Agricultural and Pastoral Society's Annual Show opens to-day at the Gisborne Park Co.’s racecourse, and as there is every prospect of fine weather, there should be a large attendance. The chief of these are the driving competitions at I.UO pony jumping, and handicap trot. The competition for the best hunter will also take j place to-day. Last year the leaping match for ponies was one of the most exciting events at the Show, the ponies jumping splendidly, and being well ridden. There are thirteen competitors in to-day’s event, all good jumpers, and the contest should prove very interesting. In the driving competition the competitors are Messrs A. McKenzie, F. 8. Desßarres, and A. McKenzie, juur. On Wednesday all exhibits must be on the ground and penned by 9.80 a.m,, and judging commences at 10 a.to. The sheep shearing will be held at 11. The ladies’ hacks will be taken at 1.80. and the leaping competition will follow.
