(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wellington, last night. The Inspector of Native Schools has proposed to the trustees of the late Sir Donald McLean scholarships at Te Aute Native College that a sum of money available annually (£103) should be diverted to certain scholarships at the Maori primary schools in the colony. It has been decided, however, not to make any alteration in the McLean scholarships conditions so far as the coming examinations are concerned. Dunedin, Saturday. Iu the matter of the tailoresses’ dispute, the Conciliation Board has made an award, to continue in force till December, 1903, extending till that date the award of the Arbitration Court of March, 1899, with these modifications :—lmprovers to be paid not less than 17s fid weekly ; one improver to every three journeymen in town, but one to two in the country. Christchurch, Saturday. George Mumford, late skipper of the yacht Ariadne, was remanded for another week by the Magistrate. The same bail as before was allowed.
