HIGHLY EULOGISES COLONIAL TROOPS.
MEN ENDURED GREAT HARD SHIPS WITHOUT A MURMUR.

At a dinner given at the Mansion House Lord Roberts, in response to the toast ol the Imperial forces, said that be doubted if ever the British army was ever so severely tried more than they were the lot two years. They wore most deeply indebted to the very material help which they had received from the colonials, who right through the war hac! exhibited extraordinary intelligence, perseverance, and
determination, often undergoing great hardship and privations without a murmur. The soldiers serving in South Africa had done everything cheerfully, and in a soldierlike manner.
