The Council met nt 2.00 p.m. 'L'he Money-lenders Bill wus passed through Committee. "The Factories Bill was read a second time pro forma. The following Bills were read a second Bine : —Cornwall Bark Duties Exemption, Evidence Further Amendment Opium l’rohibitiou, and Charitable Institutions Rating.

House of Representatives

The House met at 2.1>0 p.m.

The following Bills were introduced by Governor's message, and read a first time : Military Tensions Act Amendment Bill, Local Bodies Goldfields l’ublic Works and Loan Bill. Government Loans to Local Bodies Act Amendment Bill, and State Coal Mines Bill. A motion for the introduction of Payment of Members Bill was carried by 33 to 2d. and the Bill was read a first time.
