WHISTLING AT WHARVES
L,y Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. The nuisance caused by the whistling of steamers at wharves and moorings is to cease in Wellington harbor. It was decided by the Harbor Board to-day to draw up a by-law to effect that reform. HARBOR CHARTS. The Marino Department is to be requested by the Harbor Board to communicate with the Admiralty asking them to send a surveying steamer to Wellington to verify the harbor charts, which were compiled many years ago. A REVOLTING CASE.
The -lustices who heard the charge of revolting cruelty to a cow, reported'yosterday, paid a visit to tho scene of tho alleged outrage, and also examined the injured beast. As a result they found themselves unable to see eye to oye in regard to the case, and announced this morning that they had decided that the ease should be adjourned till Monday next, and will be reheard by the S.M.
