HAWKE'S BAY EDUCATION BOARD.
(Special to Times.) Napier, last night
At the Education Hoard meeting the Secretary's statement showed that the credit balance was L'2tSs 11s fid to the. school fund and X'JSti 18s debit to the building fund. The Chairman said all the applications for the building grants have been carefully considered, and could not be dealt with at present, the Hoard not being yet aware how much it would receive from the Government. Gisborne’s application for 80 model rifles was referred to the Department. The applications for schools at Whataupoke and Taraheru were heiil over for number and ages of probable pupils, etc. Mr Harry Morgan was appointed a pupil teacher. Makauri’s letter in reference to school matters generally was held over, pending the Inspector's report. Morere’s application for school was refused. Ormond—Refund granted of .I’2 His, expended on repairs to floor. Wairenga-a-iiiku —Mr Quigley's recommendation that .LG 10s be expended on spouting and re-papering was adopted. It was decided that a number of permanent changes in the stalls of certain country schools should not take place till after the holidays.
