Regarding the evils of smoking, Hr •I. M. Seavor, Oolledge Physician of Yale University, U. S. A., in keeping a record of the physical development of the students of the university for eight years, found that, in weight, the non-users of tobacco increased 10.4 per cent, more than the regular users, and ti.G per cent, more than the occasional users. In height, the nin users increased 24 per cent, more than the regular users, and 14 per cent more than the occasional user. In growth of chest girth the non-user had an advantage over the regular user of 2d.7 per c nt.. and over the occasional user of 22 per cent., but in lung capacity the growth was in favor of the non-user by 77..7 per cent., when compared with the irregular users.
