A WOMAN SHOT BY HER COM PANION.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Dunedin, last night

A shooting affair occurred last night between Cumberland and Castle streets. Two women named Mary Pearce and Renwick quarrelled over something, and Mary Pearce went to the house with a revolver and shot her companion in the lower part of the face. The woman Kenwick was removed to the hospital. It is believed that tiie wound is not likely to prove fatal. The woman Pearce has been arrested. Both parties are said to be respectable people. The woman Pearce is not long from Auckland.
