AFGHANISTAN’S NEW AMEER.
HIS BROTHERS OPPOSE Ills ACCESSION.
By Telegraph—Tress Association Copyright London, Oct. 12. The 1 >aily Telegraph states that Russian official advices from Bokhara allege that Habcbullnh’s brothers, a few hours prior to the proclamation of his succession, secretly loft Kabul, accompanied by their partisans. HabebuUah, indignant at their action, has surrounded himself with trustworthy troops, and sent strong detachmoms of tiro guard along the main roads to prevent their return unless as prisoners.
The Times' Simla correspondent's reports from the frontier show that everything is quiet in Afghanistan. Habidullah. in a letter announcing his accession, informs Lord Cur/on that he will follow his father's footsteps, and he hopes the friendship of the Governments of Afghanistan and India will continuously increase.
