AUSTRALIAN TRAINING NOTES. i'y Telegraph—l'ress Association—Copyright Melbourne, Oct. 8. Vocalist galloped eleven furlongs this morning in 2.obi, and Dreamland ran ten furlongs in 2.NR. Gauleon, Rock Gun, and Australia did a mile in 1.50. Black Watch covered a mile in 1.5-1, Abax six furlongs in 1.10, Haymaker a mile in 1.40, Grasspan and San Fran nine furlongs in 2.1.1, Hautvillicrs and The Bride nine furlongs in 2.3. Australian Colors and Flagship (shoeless) together did ten furlongs, anil the latter won easily in 2.1-1. Received 2.1 a.m., Oct. 9.

Ampier covered a mile in 1.51 ; Caleeonian and Sanlor, six furlongs, with great dash, in 1.20. Sequence, Caravel, and Warrior galloped a mile, Sequcnco leading by a length or two, in 1.48. J. Honeycomb and Honeybee did a mile in 1.48. Speculation registered the best mile gallop, finishing in 1.47. THE BETTING. The betting on the Caulfield Cup is as follows: —10 to 1 Warrior and Ampier, 12 to 1 George Frederick, 14 to 1 Grasspan, Wakefield, and Hymcttus, 10 to 1 Lucknow. For the Derby, Hautvillicrs is favorite at 10 to 'J on. Melbourne Cup quotations: Australian Colors is at 10 to 1. Hautvillicrs has been well backed at 12's.
