New Plymouth, last night.

At the Supreme Court this morning, the second charge against Thomas Payne (attempted arson) was heard, and, as the | ur v were not agreed at nine o'clock to-night, they were discharged. Judge Counollv „ intimated that if the Crown Prosecutor would apply to stay proceedings, the ease would be put back till Monday. The charge of theft against Allan Cleland is unfinished.
