DUNCAN WINS CHAMPIONSHIP. [By Telegraph—Press Association.] Auckland, last mght. The Golf Championship of New Zealand was won by Arthur Duncan (Wellington), 9 up and 7 to play, tho winner for the third year in succession. Ilis concluding round was a brilliant performance, 70 for IS holes being the record for the course. W. D. Colbeck (Auckland) was runner-up in the final with Duncan. Ho played a good sound game, but Duncan, especially in tho second round, was too strong for him. Tho meeting has been altogether most successful, and proved a splendid opening to the new Cornwall links. Duncan also played off a tie bogie handicap with Pare Keiha (Poverty Bay), the former winning. The meeting will be concluded tomorrow, with the medal play heap match, and a match between Auckland and Wellington, for the inter-club challenge bowl, presented by Mr E. D. O’Rorke. Fifteen Southern lady golfers have arrived for the Ladies’ Championship Meeting next week, six come from Wellington, four from- Dunedin, two from Wairarapa, and one each. from Christchurch, Wanganui, and Napier.
