POVERTY BAY ROWING CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting ot the Poverty Bay llowing Club was held last evening in the Cosmopolitan rooms. There was a large attendance, Mr J. Webb presiding. The annual report, which was published in our issue of yesterday, was adopted, with the addition that several names of winners of trophies during the past season were added. These were Messrs J. Martin, F. Fox, A. W. Kirk, and J. Parker, who won Mr W. Good’s trophies. The balancesheet showed the assets to exceed liabilities by JEI9I 10s sd. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President, E. Murphy Esq., proposed by Tv. Kellct and seconded by A. Kirk; vico-Presidents, Messrs C. A. DcLautour, W. Webb, J. Townley, ,T. It. Jones, A. Taylor, Father Mulvihill, Bov. J. Paterson, H. Williams, G. Oman, and Geo. Williams ; Patrons, Messrs W. Gault, C. P. Browne, E. Kirk, E. P. Joyce, J. East, B. Cox, W. Good, H. B. Smith, F. Oatridgo, and J. Inncs. For the position of captain tliero were two nominations, and Mr J. Webb was elected. There were five nominations for the offico of deputy-captain, and Mr J. Pool was elected. Mr W. Fraser was unanimously reelected secrcta.-y of the club, and Mr C. Taylor assistant secretary. Mr A. W. Kirk was appointed treasurer, and Messrs J, Bosio and It. Jones, auditors. There were eight nominations for members of committee, six being required. The following were elected: Messrs B. Jones, C. Taylor, A. Poole, A. Kirk, A. W. Kirk, and H. Taylor. NEW MEMBERS. The following now members were elected: J. Williams, Bert Williams, B. Power, B. Piesse, J. Thompson, A. Thompson, I. Taylor, J. Ilobb, W. Biggs, M. McGovern, W. Lewis, M. McLeod, L. Tait, Archie Pool. DELEGATE TO ASSOCIATION. Dr Pollen, of Wellington, was elected delegate to to the New Zealand Bowing Association. OPENING IJAY, The captain, secretary, and assistantsecretary wore appointed to meet the Gisborne Club in connection with the opening day. The secretary' mentioned that Mr Bourn, representing the Auckland WeeklyNows, wished to take a photo, of the club’s plant oil the,river for publication in that paper. Votes of thanks were passed to the gentlemon who had donated prizes to the club during the past season.
