ENTERTAINING ROYALTY.
THE GOVERNOR’S LITTLE BILL,

Wellington, last night. In the House this evening Mr Seddon moved the second reading of the Royal Visit Expenses Lill to provide for the repayment of 1(2250 to the Governor in connection with tiie Royal visit. lie said the Governor had acted as a host fo the colony, and this repayment would no. uy any means cover all tiie personal expenses he had been put to.
Considerable debate ensued, in which Messrs Hornsby, Fisher, Pirani, Barclay, and others opposed the Bill. Mr Ward deprecated a section of the House cavilling at this comparatively small expenditure, and said the whole of the X’70,000 expended by the Government in connection with the Royal visit had been made up in increased revenue through the railways and customs.
