AUCKLAND SPECIAL.

SPORTING. (Special to Timks.) Auckland, last night. Jim Buchanan’s three victories at Avondale meeting yesterday wore the result of scientific riding. Tlic Gisbornitc added two more wins to his laurel wreaths on the preceding day, his great judgment exorcised in each event in just catching the judge’s eye excels anything I have seen at Ellcrslie for many a long day. Buchanan’s record for the'past season is 24 wins, a record of whioh the young Gisbornitc may well fool proud. PERSONAL. 1 hear one of the Government veterinary surgeons, Mr McEaeharn, who is at present stationed in Otago, has resigned his position in the service, and will leave shortly for South Africa in charge of a shipment of horses from Australia.
