The Council, by 26 to 21, rejected the Woman’s Suttrage Bill. Cabinet will discuss the subject as soon as the Arbitration Bill is dealt with. Should the Council reject or mutilate the measure, steps may be taken to strengthen the Council.
The financial statement shows the revenue for the past year to ho XT0,794,000, including X*BSf>,oUo returned by Commonwealth. The expenditure was X'10,870,000. The estimated revenue for the current year is X 11,004,000, including £'1, 200,000 from the Commonwealth, and the expenditure X 10,896,000. Hobart, Sept. 26. The censure motion on the Government was defeated by a majority of 14.
