Patutahi School.

(To the Editor of the Times.) Sir.—lu reply to Mr Owen Gallagher, who 1 discover is “ Patutahi," I way frankly admit certain facts as far as they are discoverable, but it is said that truth is often hidden at the bottom of a wellwell let it be so. Mr Gallagher's facts were not doubted, but his mode of proving them appeared on the face to be peculiar. He seems to find fault with there being some objection to horses being placed in a paddock wherein is kept “a dangerous cow." If the allegation (mark the word! be true, that the cow is dangerous, it is at anyrate advisable that the scholars when catching their mounts should not be subjected to the risk of mishap. If Mr Gallagher will take advice I would urge upon him not to air his name in the Press. I believe thoroughly in education. and in all matters pertaining to it, but I am firmly of belief that all differences of opinion relative to the conduct of schools would be better dealt with by the elected Committee than by the opinion of ordinary newspaper readers. Otherwise let the Committee be done away with. — I am, etc., Geokok Schmidt.
