A cablegram received yesterday states : Tyldesley, the cricketer, has completed 3000 runs. A man named William Jackson was crossing the Snowy River, at Betebolong, New South Wales, in a canoe, when, through a capsize, he was drowned. Recently Thomas Smith, the proprietor of the Fairview Hotel, near Wellington, New South Wales, accidentally shot himself dead, the trigger of a gun he was handling catching against a chaff-bag.
