It is understood there are good grounds for stating that after lengthened experiments a successful method of desulphurising sulphide ores has been discovered. The process is described as inexpensive and expeditious, the ore being completely desulphurised in a very short time without the aid of roasting [furnaces, at a cost of only a few shillings a ton, loaving the sulphide ores completely oxidised. A State trial lias yet to bo made on a lar ,r c scale. Much excitement prevails at Broken Hill.
