He favorably views the prospects and possibilities of the possession. The revenue is increasing, and the trade and gold output steadily expanding. Cultivation is spreading, and the Natives are gradually replacing their savage customs with civilised ideas. The great draw- j back is the unwillingness to permit bona fide companies to take up large areas. If the Commonwealth wiser counsels prevail, iudustries will rapidly expand.
