QUEEN'S STATUE.
WELLINGTON'S TARDY EFFORT,
[By Telegraph Press Association.] Wellington, last night. At a meeting of the Executive of the Queen's Statue Fund a letter was read from an eminent English sculptor that he could furnish a good bronze statue, with grantic pedestial, for £2OOO. It was resolved to obtain a sketch of the proposed statue, and in the meantime to endeavor to obtain further subscriptions to the fund, which now amounts to £I62S.
