COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. Lord Hopetoun has accepted the patron ship of tho Commercial Travellers’ Association.
FOOTBALL GATES. The gross takings at Saturday’s football were £269. Of this, the New Zealand Union gets £l6O not.
RACING. The committee of the Dunedin Jockey Club decided to pay dividends on the first and second horses. A petition for the reconsideration of the case of R. Derrott, and also a request in the case of McMinness, were received and consideration adjourned till next mooting.
HOSIERY TRADE. The Arbitration Court heard the evidence of one witness to-day in the hosiery trade dispute, and adjourned to inspect the various factories.
AFTER THE BOOM. At a meeting of the shareholders of the Mornington Star Dredging Company, it was decided to go into voluntary liquidation. The dredge capsized some months ago, and it has not been found possible to wipe off the debt incurred in righting her.
