GREAT BRITAIN'S RESOLVE,

Dr Morrison, the Times Pekin correspondent, states that Great Britain has announced that she will reconsider tho arrangement to withdraw troops unless the authors of tho massacro of tho missionary Thompson and four British women and four children at Chuchan in July last year are forthwith punished. Tho execution of one of tho guiltiest murderers is demanded, and the penalties of the others are allowed to bo modified.
TIIE FRENCH COMMANDER.

Hongkong, Aug. 21, Taotoi, of Ilwchwachan, Mongolia, is levying a duty on tho Kalgan route, which is collectable at Tientsin, thus forestalling tho provisional government.

Tho Times correspondent, Dr Morrison, states that tho protocol embodies twelve articles, including tho following : Prince Chun’s mission to Germany ; execution of the punishments awarded those found guilty in connection with tho recent troubles ; prohibition of tho importation of arms to China for two years, with provision for tho renewal of similar periods ; settlement of tho indemnity on tho basis already cabled ; apportionment of China’s share of improving the approaches to Shanghai and Tientsin ; razing the forts; particulars of proposals for foreign garrisons ; permanent dismissal of guilty Chinese officials and amendment of commercial treaties.
