Legislative CouncilBy Telegraph—-Press Association. Wellington, last night. The Council met at 2.30 p.lll. After further debate, tho motion to go into committee on tho Shops and Offices Bill was agreed to on the voices.

House of RepresentativesThe Houso met at 2.30 p.lll. The Hospital Nurses Registration Bill was committed. A long discussion took place on the interpretation clause. Eventually the interpretation of tho word “ hospital ” was extended to include such other hospitals whoso proprietors consent to open them to inspection under tho Hospitals Act, 1885, as may be approved by the Governor-in-Coimeil. The Houso rose at 1 o’clock. AFTERNOON SITTING. The Houso met at 2.30 p.m.

The Hospital Nurses Registration Bill was in committeo the whole of tho afternoon. The Bill was amended to enable any nurse to register who holds a certificate of three consecutive years’ training in a hospital. The House rose at 5.20 p.m. Tho Houso resumed at 7.30.

Consideration of tho Hospital Nurses Registration Bill was interrupted in committee to allow Mr Scddon to bring down the Financial Statement. Its dolivery occupied two hours and twenty minutes. In reply to Captain Russell, Mr Seddon said ho hoped to start tho financial debate next Friday, and to bring down the Public Works Statement a fortnight aftor tho close of the dobato.
