Messrs Williams and Kettle report thac at their stock sale at Matawhero or Thursday, tho yarding of both sheep am cattle was fair, considering the bad str o of tho roads, etc. “Wo yarded about j) head of cattle and over 1000 sheep. T ,?"0 was a large attendance of the public, 1 bidding for cattle was exceptionally 'ori>:, but for sheep buyers hung off until aftir the sale when we cleared our entry wi-h the exception of ono small pen of sheep at prices quite up to late sale prices. V'be following prices were realised :—Sheep : Store ewes 9s 3d to 10s, fuil-mouth ewes in lamb 8s 8d to 9s, full-mouth ewes in low condition 7s 3d, hoggets Os 6:1 to Bs. Cattle : Bullocks, medium weights, up to ■67, 2-year-old steers <64 10s, yearling steers £2 15, fat cows (light) up to .65, springing cows 65 2s 6d to .65 15s. weaners 85s to 425, Pigs : Suckers 5s 3d, porkers 15s. Our next sale will be held on Thursday, August 22nd, at the Matawhero yards.”
