(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, last night. Tho Bov. Mr Slade, the missionary, whoso deportation Sir Georgo O’Brien, Governor of Fiji, threatened, interviewed to-day, stated that thero was a strong feeling that the ordinance in reference to attempting to induce Fijians to favor a change of Government would not bo allowed. There was no necessity for it. The Fijians had no organisation, nor any inclination to fight. Tho missionaries would have tho greatest influence on them in preventing this. The decline in population was due largely to tho communal system, which seems to kill ambition. The Europeans in Fiji favor federation with Australia. Sir George O’Brien was to leave Fiji on Thursday, and it was improbablo that lie would return,
