BACK FROM THE DEAD.

TROOPER FISHER STILL ALIVE,

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wellington, last night,

Tho reported death in South Africa of G. IP. Fisher, son of George Fisher, M.H.R., happily turns out to bo incorrect. The latter to-day received a letter from his son, being of the date 11th Juno. In it he stated “ that one of the Kaffrarian Rifles, a lance-corporal named G. Fisher, was shot dead the other day.” Similarity in names must have given rise to the report that it was the son of tho Wellington M.H.R. who had mot his death in action, Doth men being members of the Kaffrarian Rifles.
