WEST COAST TROOPERS.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Greymouth, last night,

The returned contingents landed this afternoon at two o’clock. There was an immense crowd assembled on the wharf, a great many being from country places. The troopers wore received by the Mayor and members of local bodies. The Mayor made a short speech, expressing the satisfaction of townspeople at seeing them back again, and paying a tribute to their heroism. Pie called for three hearty cheers. The Blackball baud was waiting, and furnished suitable music, playing the troopers through town. The returned men were entertained at a banquet at tho Opera House this evening, tho Mayor presiding. Fully two hundred peoplo wore present. Tho gallery was full of ladies. The banquet was most successful,
