A SUCCESSFUL LOAN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, last night. Tenders were opened to-day by the Harbor Board for consolidated 5 per cent, debentures for £37,000, which became available in June by drawing the sinking fund. The amount was more than doubly applied'for. The highest tender was .£IOB, and the lowest at par. The average price realised was £lO6 18s -lid. AN EXPLANATION. The Dunedin Stock Exchange has requested the Daily Times to say that a Press Association message from Auckland | yesterday relating to amendments in the j Stamp Act does not hear out the facts of the case. The Government is moving in j the matter, and though the Committee of the Dunedin Stock Exchange were asked j to formulate their views on the proposed I amendments, the Bill in reality was drafted by the Crown solicitor, acting for the Commissioner of Stamps.
