In the House of Lords the Early Closing of Shops Committee submitted a report recommending that the Town Council should bo empowered to pass provisional orders for early closing, such orders to be submitted to Parliament before operating. Melbourne, July 16. Findley, who was expelled from the House, has been defoated by Mr Dcegan, at East Melbourne, by nearly two to one. Tlic Government ordered the discontinuance of the camera, but before that was effected, Dr Maloney, a member of the Assembly, entering to vote, saw the camera and smashed it.
