COMMERCIAL.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. Mr Cameron, Inspector of New Zealand Produco at Homo, reports to tho Agricultural Department that complaints aro made that tho carcases of lamb and sheep sent from tho colony of late arc too coarse and heavy. The quality of lamb has been good, and there is every prospect that good prices will continue for the remainder of the season. Shipments of mutton this year have been unusually heavy, but it is felt that they will be very light for some time to come, so as to enable tho flocks to be brought up to something like their original nuinbor.
Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company have received the following London cablegram, dated July 11th : “ Since the opening of tho sales there has been moro spirit amongst buyors, and the American demand has increased. For superior greasy merino tho prices are on a lovel with tho closing rates of last sales. The coarse crossbred market is firmer.”
