Sit;, —I read all the correspondence in your paper with great interest, especially that from engineers and others, all by their own showing of the amateur class. I notice they call themselves laymen, I can understand this term, as their cackling makes it very obvious ! But, sir, can you kindly inform me what they have laid'?—l am, etc.,
