Li the House of Commons, replying to so\<-ral pro-Boer speeches alleging Mr Chamberlain’s refusal to sanction Lord Kitchener’s peace proposals as being responsible for the prolongation of tho war, Mr Brodriek declared that in the last few months the Boevs had suffered enormously, losing 7000 men, besides great quantities of stores ami ammunition. Their determination tc continue the war was solely the result of the agitation in this country countenanced in high quarters. Kruger had never subscribed a farthing towards tho support of the captivo women and children prisoners, nor negotiated with the Government.

Private advices report that George Fisher, second son of the junior member for Wellington, and a member of tho IvatYrarian Itilles, was killed at tho front in May. Mr Pilchor has been cabled to by the Premier, asking him to supply particulars.
