Rough Weather.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, last night. Tiic outward San Francisco mail steamer Mariposa arrived at 5.20 this morning, being one day behind the advertised time. She had a very stormy passage across the Tasman Sea. A strong westerly gale was met outside Sydney Hoads, and the steamer hove-to for 39 hours. A sea broke aboard and stove in the starboard boats and several of the portholes. The Rotoiti on the trip from Nelson to New Plymouth lost the top and centre pinnacles from the steering gear. She was beached and repaired at New Plymouth. Arrived yesterday afternoon, and sailed this morning.
